Curriculum - Tadika Seri Soka (TSS)

Tadika Seri Soka is founded upon the Soka Education philosophy of “value-creation”. The purpose of this student-centered Soka pedagogy is for the children’s happiness.

Children are curious, active and keen learners. Therefore, it is important for the school provides a safe, nurturing and joyful environment for the holistic development of all children.

It is our priority to help the children’s learning at every stage in:

i. Character building;

ii. Problem solving;

iii. Social interaction;

iv. Discovering ways of learning through learning activities and kindergarten events;

Apart from personal character building, we also emphasize equally on academic competencies in numeracy, literacy, science, etc.

Tadika Seri Soka curriculum is based on the educational goals of the kindergarten and the National Preschool Curriculum Standard (NPCS) formulated by the Ministry of Education (MOE).

At Tadika Seri Soka, children enjoy a thematic and hands-on activities approach to learning.

Our age appropriate programme promotes learning while having fun with academic subjects taught alongside with art, dance, music, storytelling, learning visits and school events.

Tri-Languages Programme

Bahasa Melayu, English and Mandarin.

Language plays a crucial role in the development of children’s cognitive development. A holistic multilingual teaching approach of integrating Bahasa Melayu, English and Mandarin are included into our curriculum.

Children are exposed to the meaningful language activities such as reading, word building skills through “suku kata”, phonics blending skills, storytelling and role playing.

Early Mathematics and Science

Our Mathematics and Science program include:

a) hands-on experiences;

b) use language such as position words, number words, names of shapes and so on are designed.

Under the guidance of teachers, children maneuver and engage meaningfully in the investigation of things around them, trying to find answers to their questions. They will grow into bright shining stars!

Physical Education

Physical development in kindergarten is about improving skills of coordination, control, manipulation and movement. Tadika Seri Soka provides children with the programs and space to carry out the physical activities at the physical stations in the hall as well as in the play room.

Physical development helps children develop confidence in what they do and enables them to feel the positive benefits of being healthy and active.

Art, Music and Dance

Children are naturally spontaneous and exuberant in the ways they express their ideas and feelings. We would like to nurture the children to be creative to enable children to make connections between one area of learning to another and, in doing so, extend their understanding of the world through learning art, music and dance.
